Registered Nurse - Suicide Prevention Coordinator
The health and well-being of the Nation's men and women who have served in uniform is the highest priority for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). VA is committed to providing access to high-quality, recovery-oriented, evidence-based mental health care that anticipates and responds to Veterans' needs. Registered Nurses hired as Suicide Prevention Coordinators (SPCs) engage in crisis intervention with the sole purpose of preventing Veterans death by suicide. Basic Requirements: English Language Proficiency. In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7403(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
