Job Summary
As a Trauma Registrar RN, you'll assist the Trauma program manager to maintain a high-quality trauma registry. You will identify cases and maintain the database to meet regulatory standards. Attention to detail and consistent, high-quality recording are crucial for success.
What You'll Do
Become the go-to person for trauma registry reports, responding efficiently to requests for information using available trauma-related database resources.
You'll collect and manage trauma data for research and quality improvement. Keep information confidential and accurate.
Use your data-backed skills for reports and data analysis to improve processes and patient care. Consult with physicians for trauma case reporting when necessary.
You will be accountable for reporting and transmitting hospital data in a complete and timely manner to relevant reporting bodies.
Ensuring harmonious collaboration with the trauma leadership, hospital staff, and physicians is vital for maintaining the trauma designation status.
You will join the team to improve trauma performance through researching and entering data into the trauma registry.
What Will Make You Successful In The Role
Familiarity with medical terms and the body's structure.
Experience with tracking trauma cases, abstracting cases, and entering data.
Knowledge of maintaining data integrity and conducting research.
Proficiency in coding diseases and injuries, and scoring the severity of injuries.
Basic computer skills include using software, data entry, information security, medical record keeping, scanning, and email.
Effectual skills in both verbal and written communication.
Ability to work effectively within a team, fostering a spirit of collaboration and respect.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
The ideal candidate will have majored in Nursing
A minimum of (3) three years of relevant experience
Registered Nurse (RN) License
Completion of Abbreviated Injury Scale course within first 12 months of employment (AAAM AIS)
Securing an International Classification of Diseases 10 Coding Certificate within the first 12 months (ICD)
Completion of a Trauma Data Registry course within the initial 12 months (TDRC)
Within 36 months, obtain certification in Trauma Registries or complete Advanced Injury Scoring and Statistic course. (CSTR)
