Performs, understands, and interprets AV optimizations, V-V optimizations and able to provide assistance to provider during cardioversions and non-invasive electrophysiology studies. |
Collects, investigates, analyzes, and interprets data as he/she extracts it from any and all pacemaker and defibrillator devices and then presents information with recommendations to Electrophysiologists, Cardiologists, surgeons and other physicians. |
Evaluates the function and effectiveness of Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT) devices making programming changes as deemed necessary to optimize effectiveness. |
Analyzes Implanted Loop Recorders (IRL) with a complete understanding of waveforms and the knowledge to differentiate artifact and device anomalies from actual events that will provide accurate interpretation of arrhythmias and appropriate patient treatment. |
Optimizes the function and effectiveness of each device for the enhanced benefit of the patient. |
Reviews, interprets, schedules, and takes appropriate actions on transmissions for all assigned manufacturer databases. |
Updates, reviews, interprets, deletes, and generates all information in the PC database including device identifiers, patient demographics, remote and in-clinic interrogations. |
Assess for MRI conditionality, interrogate pre and post MRI, program device to meet MRI conditional standards, monitor telemetry during MRI for acute changes in rhythm. |
Understand appropriate billing codes based on type of service and code appropriately for all technical fees. |
Facilitate final report generation and ensuring data is present in EHR for documentation and billing/coding purposes. |
Assess device management needs during surgical procedures and provide guidance to procedural staff on a case by case basis. |
Coordinates visits with primary cardiology visits when applicable, works closely with cardiology staff to achieve this. |
Assists provider with implantable loop recorder insertion, ILR device programming and home monitor patient education |
Assist hospice provider/staff to determine appropriate management of device and make programming changes to prevent unwanted therapies. |
Provide home monitor education including troubleshooting issues over the phone and in-person, appropriate use and distribute new monitors as needed. |
Participate in a call rotation, will be crossed trained to cover other areas in the non-invasive cardiology department. |
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning. Family is included in teaching as appropriate. |
