The Staff Nurse demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others. The Staff Nurse successfully performs activities appropriate to their grade as outlined in the Nurse Qualification Standards. These Standards identify the educational, experiential and competency requirements for the Registered Nurse at each grade. The responsibility of the Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse is to provide, direct, and supervise the delivery of quality nursing care to a culturally diverse veteran population of varying complexity in the Acute Medical-Surgical-Critical Care settings.
