This vacancy is for the RN Float Pool with the Sheridan VA Health Care System. The RN, Float Pool performs a variety of duties, not limited to: Completing initial assessments and reassessments of assigned patients as directed. Completing plan of care for patients and updates plan of care based on assessments. Documenting in a complete and comprehensive manner all assessments, findings, education and interactions with patients or their family units. Administering medications in a safe and efficient manner following established policies Inserting and managing peripheral intravenous access (PIV) Managing central venous access sites, infusion of continuous fluids and administers IV and pushing medications. Completing admission and discharge of patients/residents in accordance with established unit policies Provides patient education and documents the same, reinforcing physician education. Accurately receiving and verifying physician orders Providing direct patient care specific to activities of daily living (ADL) in a safe and efficient manner. Following instructions provided by charge nurse, nurse manager/assistant nurse manager, physician or other supervisory personnel. Performing additional duties that may be assigned as appropriate by supervisory personnel.
