The Eastern Colorado Veterans Health Care System, Mental Health Nursing, is currently recruiting for one (1) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Lakewood Valor Point facility, located in Lakewood Colorado. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is assigned to the Nursing Service of the Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) and works at the Valor Point Domiciliary. Valor Point-RRTP is a homeless residential program serving both mean and women, with the primary function on homeless veterans or veterans at risk of being homeless. The LPN participates effectively on teams to plan and manager patient care. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is assigned to the Nursing Service of the Eastern Colorado Health Care System (ECHCS) and works at the Valor Point Domiciliary. The incumbent performs a variety of supportive nursing, medical, and behavioral tasks and procedures with the primary focus of evaluation and treatment of veteran homelessness. The LPN monitors administration of medication, observes patient's behavioral changes, identifies and takes appropriate action to emergency medical situations or psychiatric needs, and performs other domiciliary care services. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the general supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager and Nurse Manager of the Valor Point Domiciliary. Additional major duties include but are not limited to: Independently perform coordinating duties related to the operation of the domiciliary. Order and maintain supplies. Respond to breakage/malfunction or loss of equipment. Assist Veterans with various needs related to appointments, housing and transportation. Required: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Work Schedule: 40-hour workweek - variable shifts including 8 and 12 hour shifts.
