| 1. Clinical Coordinator The Clinical Coordinator Manager is responsible for the coordination and management of all medical monitoring, medical consultation, medical referrals, foreign threat assessments, and communication conducted by the Clinical Care Coordinator Department. The Clinical Coordinator Manager, collaboratively with the clinical Coordinators, Clinical Manager(s), CCC Manager, Medical Transport Personnel and the CCCRs will assist with determining and posting foreign threat assessments, maintaining the medical referral database, and the completion of medical transport triage and communication of transport status updates as applicable. Acts as Administrator on Call and available for consultation by department members when needed. |
The Clinical Coordinator Manager holds ultimate responsibility for all Clinical Coordinator duties and is required to act as Coordinator on call on a regular scheduled basis.
a. Utilizing a collaborative process, the Clinical Coordinator Manager will be able to assess, plan, facilitate, and advocate the options and services require meeting an individual’s health needs, using communication and available resources to promote quality, cost-effective outcomes. b. Assists the Clinical Coordinator in identifying appropriate providers and facilities throughout the continuum of services (as needed) while ensuring that available resources are being used in a timely and cost-effective manner. c. Fiscal responsibility on AirMed’s behalf and as an advocate for the patient for all aspects of the transport.
2. Medical Transport Responsibilities The Clinical Coordinator Manager, in conjunction with the DMO, Clinical Coordinators, Medical Director(s), Clinical Manager(s), and Medical Transport Personnel is ultimately responsible for assisting in the coordinator of all necessary pre-departure communications with both the referencing and receiving hospitals worldwide with regard to the patient’s medical status and transport requirements. He/she will also ensure appropriate communication with personnel at the receiving and transferring hospital, transporting medical crew, ground transport providers, family/friends, and customers as applicable throughout the transport. Is responsible to confirm that the clinical coordinators obtain pertinent information on medical transports to form a data base including a history, medications, laboratory date, physical, psychological and social data obtained from the referring nurse, patient’s chart, subjective and objective data gained form the patient and other health team members, revising the database as new information arises. Communicates accumulated data to the receiving nurse, physician, facility, customer and family as indicated. All pertinent data is documented on the pre-departure transport forms.
On medical consultations, monitoring, and referrals ensures the clinical coordinator obtains information including a history, medications, physical, psychological, social, and subjective data gained form the patient and provides services per protocol through chart audits, call reviews, and other QI activities. Collaboratively with the Clinical Coordinators, Medical Director(s), Clinical Manager(s), Medical Transport Personnel, CCC Manager(s) and CCCR(s) monitors documentation within the internal database as appropriate to include medical contacts, information about international providers, etc.
3. Administrative / Managerial Responsibilities The Clinical Coordinator Manager will work closely with the DMO in the continued development and administration of CQI activities within the medical operations. Responsibilities also include personnel management of the Clinical Coordinator Department to include staffing, payroll, scheduling, overall management of equipment, supplies, etc. Other Company Administrative duties may be assigned.
Primary responsibility is to direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate department activities/responsibilities, ensure fiscal management of transports as contracted or agreed, to collaborate, contact, delegate, and prioritize assigned activities as required to meet department mandates and company obligations, requiring interaction with all company departments. Provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to Executive Management.
The Clinical Coordinator Manager also serves as the Company HIPAA Privacy Officer and is responsible to provide HIPAA compliance training to all employees, affiliates, partners, etc. on behalf of AirMed.
4. Marketing Responsibilities The Clinical Coordinator Manager will be required to attend various industry trade shows and conferences to represent AirMed. He/she will also be required to attend various company meetings and to initiate appointments in the promotion of the AirMed Transport Program and in support of the AirMed Membership Program.
