We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to join our team in Ambulatory Care as the Women’s Health Nurse Manager at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Medical Center. VCU Medical Center is a recognized Magnet®-designated and Baby-Friendly hospital, located in Richmond, Virginia. The focus of the position is to ensure that safe, high quality, customer service driven, and patient-centered care is delivered to patients of all ages. To assist in monitoring clinic (s) day-to-day operations, partner with the health care team, implement new growth strategies, and encourage innovation.
All clinical employees in the clinic report to this position; however, supervisory responsibilities may be delegated as appropriate.
Assist in directing and supervising daily clinical operations to ensure that all patients are treated in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
Act as an advocate for patients by communicating patient needs and concerns about their care, treatment or delay in care to staff and providers, and seek resolution to concerns.
Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of clinic patients with an emphasis on patient education.
Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.
Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes.
Coach and mentors nursing team to support the professional growth of each team member to support individuals to achieve their highest potential.
Master's Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or closely related field from an accredited program or within one semester of completion. If the Master's Degree is not in Nursing, then it is required to have a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
Current RN Licensure in Virginia
AHA BLS Certification or equivalent
5 years of relevant clinical experience with 2 of those years of progressive leadership and/or supervisory/management experience
Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Certification in specialty area
Experience in Academic Medical Center environment or Ambulatory Care
