The Executive Director is a dynamic leader to drive occupancy, health care services, build local relationships and provide an overall expansive community presence. The Executive Director must be able to inspire growth, develop leads, and manage a diverse team of employees while being attentive to our Elders and family members. This leader will drive financial results and establish our standards of the highest specialty care services while supervising our management team on day to day operations and working directly with our Director of Operations.
Responsible for effective and economical operation of small departments i.e. one nurse, one activities director, one maintenance director, and 14 caregivers.
Ensure company goals and objectives are accomplished following established standards and budgetary allocations.
Create a compassionate, consistent, trusting, optimum and fun environment for Elders, employees and families always considering their diverse cultures, languages and backgrounds.
Assure Elder’s physical, social, spiritual, and nutritional needs are met, and maintain confidentiality of Elder’s personal information and protect/support Elder’s rights.
Grow revenue, occupancy and reputation from within the community by supporting community outreach and facilitate community events.
Assure all company, state and federal regulations are met and exceeded regarding Elder care and maintain appropriate records and policies.
Train employees on current alternative care and other care processes and procedures.
Build and use sound judgment to maintain Elder, family and employee satisfaction.
Inspect and maintain upkeep of the facility and its grounds and recommend improvements to promote a positive image of the facility.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule appropriately, coach, effectively manage and provide positive feedback and timely evaluate employees. Communicate any employee complaints, issues, disciplinary actions or terminations timely to Director of Human Resources and Director of Operations.
Review, approve and communicate payroll and all payroll changes timely and efficiently.
Review, approve and communicate all vendor charges and invoices timely and efficiently.
Communicate timely verbal and written recommendations and concerns to upper management.
Initiate and participate in family care meetings (Family Conferences) consistent with company policy.
Develop and promote positive public relations and community resources through contacts with area hospitals, physicians, dementia/Alzheimer’s associations and social service departments.
Monitor the development of marketing and community outreach plan to market facility and facility events.
Regularly conduct facility tours at the convenience of the inquiry.
Serve on committees at facility and in community to promote positive exposure of our programs.
Participate in facility budgeting and planning processes.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment for the Elders, families, employees, vendors and guests.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Perform other duties or special assignments as directed by management.
Maintain thorough understanding on current and future competition in terms of pricing and services.
As needed recommend new services or policies to maintain superior service and competitive advantage in the market
Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related degree in social services or business administration.
Facility management and operation and finance experience essential.
Experience preferably in long-term care, Alzheimer’s, or healthcare setting.
Some knowledge of New Mexico state rules and regulations for Assisted Living.
Ability to read, speak and write fluently in English and a plus if also can do in Spanish.
Excellent Leadership, communication, technology and social networking skills.
Strong written and verbal skills, along with the ability to work closely with a wide range of professionals, and caregivers.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours such as during evenings and weekends for family meetings, tours, special events, conferences, community outreach, admissions and facility management on-call.
Ability to effectively and compassionately communicate with residents and their families.
Ability to work with all ages and all physical and mental states of a person. Familiar with word processing, data processing and computer skills while following company email policies and organizing tasks, timekeeping and admissions documentation.
Ability to perform several job functions at once and follow Company mission and directions.
Actively maintain all required licenses or certifications required for Federal, State and Company.
Ability to travel to facilities, seminars, industry shows and corporate office; overnight stays may be necessary.
Must be able to pass criminal background check
