HR Director - Service Delivery (Hospital & Healthcare Experience)
As Human Resources Director, you will lead the Adult Patient Care Center Service Delivery Team (SDT). You will also be responsible for creating and implementing HR strategy in coordination with business and HR leaders. You will serve as a resource, partner and leader in managing HR functions for multiple functions within the adult hospital and clinics in maintaining a positive and rewarding work experience for employees.
Our Service Delivery Team supports VUMC employees and leaders with key human resource (HR) needs. We are able to help proactively consider many perspectives that result in a best practice solutions, and we are available to provide coaching through all aspects of employment, guide employees and leaders to resolve employment concerns, clarify policy and answer employment questions, develop strategic initiatives for engagement, recognition and retention, assist in change, conflict management and mediating/facilitating conversations, and offer career development solutions.
Build collaborative relationships within all levels of the organization to foster open communication and active listening
Lead special projects, conduct research, analyze data, translate information, identify trends and develop actionable items to increase retention and engagement
Plan and support organizational projects, strategic initiatives, and implementation plans
Demonstrate the ability to lead a high performing team with a focus on delivering world class service
Lead HR team and provide guidance on HR best practices, employee relations issues, policy and procedure, compensation reviews, trending in customer groups and successful partnerships with customer groups
Resolve complex human resource and business challenges by evaluating data, engaging with others, providing new/various solutions, gain agreement, implement and maintain resolution
Coach healthcare leaders on effective leadership practices that create a workplace that fosters trust, collaboration, communication, active listening and quality feedback in the production of high performing teams
Function well in an environment with a governance structure that requires in person communication to multiple groups for feedback, recommendations and implementation
Develop/evaluate system-wide nursing strategy by working with many levels of nursing leadership, ECNO, CNO, ANO, Nursing Directors, Managers and Supervisors
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Seven years (7) of human resource experience in areas such as employee relations consulting, recruitment, organizational development, compensation or benefits with a minimum of two (2) years in a leadership role
Hospital and/or clinic experience is required
PHR or SPHR certification is preferred
