The Division of Rheumatology at the Salisbury VA Healthcare System in North Carolina is seeking a part-time physician with training and expertise in Rheumatology to practice at the Kernersville Healthcare Center near Winston-Salem in a multispecialty practice environment and at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
The physician specialist will join a multidisciplinary program providing complex inpatient and outpatient care. The incumbent will clinical patient care and teaching with responsibilities that include the supervision of fellows from Wake Forest University Rheumatology Fellowship Program. T
he program manages patients with broad spectrum of connective tissue diseases with access to outpatient IV infusion center. The Rheumatology program is highly focused on outcomes and strongly encourages research activity. There are opportunities for leadership in the area of clinical trials.
Candidates will have academic appointment with Wake Forest University commensurate on the level of experience and interest.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work requires some walking, standing, bending, lifting and carrying light items such as paper, books, and charts. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule: Will vary and can be discussed during the recruitment process.
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following:
Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
